Swift Transportation seeks an experienced Claims Manager to oversee the management and resolution of complex and litigated transportation claims across the United States. This role requires deep expertise in liability analysis, policy interpretations, and litigation processes in state and federal courts.

Incumbents have substantial authority to authorize settlements and reserves, and will mentor team members, coordinate with defense counsel, and drive settlements through negotiations and

Qualifications

• 8+ years' complex claims experience
• 2+ years' claims experience in transportation industry
• Familiar with legal terminology
• On-call rotating schedule
• Excellent investigative and negotiation skills
• Ability to analyze complex situations
• Maintain state licensing
• Claims certification training preferred

Responsibilities

• Authorize and/or approve all claims payments within delegated authority
• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle claims
• Read and apply policy coverages, laws, contracts and exclusions
• Maintain timely reserves and notify management of reserves
• Conduct settlements with claimants and attorneys
• Manage litigation process with counsel and experts
• Coordinate defense strategies with defense counsel
• Mentor and train team members as needed
• Support organizational objectives and promote growth
