Job summary

US Foods, Inc. in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Sr Coordinator, Transportation to support transportation and logistics by handling clerical tasks and backhaul management. The role focuses on optimizing processes to improve efficiency, reporting, and driver communications.

The position requires experience in transportation/warehouse operations and proficiency with Excel and logistics systems; it offers a Sunday–Thursday schedule, early morning hours, and hourly compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
Minimum three (3) years of warehouse administrative or clerical experience.
Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales representative, and customer issues; communicate route updates to drivers.
Utilize systems (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and distribute reports supporting transportation operations.
Maintain and track transportation metrics (attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch, trailer temp logs, route updates, etc.).
Complete damages and shorts process, including vendor/driver communication and documentation.
Support training and development of junior clerical teammates.
Coordinate pickup appointments for backhaul orders and vendors; optimize routing and scheduling to minimize cost.
