Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mid Level Superintendent to lead field operations for high-voltage transmission and substation projects. You will supervise multiple foremen, coordinate subcontractors, and influence project outcomes through early involvement of engineering and construction decisions.

You will mentor junior superintendents, drive safety and quality, and engage with clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• 8 years of construction experience, including 3 years in a leadership role on transmission or substation projects.
• Proven ability to lead teams on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of progressive design-build or ECI models is a plus.
• Excellent communication, planning, and negotiation skills.
• Self-starter with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution on high-voltage transmission and substation projects.
• Mentor and develop junior superintendents and foremen.
• Oversee subcontractor coordination and contract administration.
• Drive client engagement and represent Kiewit in planning and problem-solving meetings.
• Mentor and help to grow Jr. Superintendents.
• Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site.
• Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with client for problem resolution and planning.
• Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover.
• Maintain daily diary for record-keeping purposes.
• Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion for direct reports.
• Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural or staff changes where appropriate.
• Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen.
