Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to support electric transmission, substation, and renewable energy projects from our MD/PA/NJ offices. You will stay technically engaged while leading complex, regulatory-driven work and mentoring teams.

The role blends routing/siting responsibility with project management, coordination, and client interaction. Travel may be required occasionally as projects evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related infrastructure.
• Proven leadership and guidance capabilities with project teams.
• Strong communication skills with clients, agencies, and colleagues at all levels.
• Experience preparing proposals, presentations, and project pricing structures.
• Willingness to travel occasionally based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for siting and environmental permitting of energy projects.
• Manage routing, siting studies, analyses, and technical reports.
• Provide oversight for environmental permitting and planning across project phases.
• Develop public involvement programs, including open houses and hearings.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Support business development and client relationship activities.
