Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager for PA/NJ/MD offices to support a growing portfolio of electric transmission, substations, and renewable energy projects.

This role combines hands-on routing/siting work with project management, multidisciplinary coordination, and mentorship. Strong leadership and regulatory experience across multiple states are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, biology, natural sciences, ecology, environmental planning or related field (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy infrastructure.
• Ability to lead project teams and work independently.
• Strong communication skills with clients, agencies, and colleagues.
• Experience with proposals, presentations, and pricing structures.

Responsibilities

• Manage siting and permitting projects for energy infrastructure.
• Serve as Project Manager or Task Leader on transmission and renewable energy assignments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support client relationships, proposals, and business development.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
• Provide technical oversight for environmental permitting across project phases.
• Develop public involvement strategies including open houses and hearings.
