Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Section Manager to lead our Minnesota-based Power Delivery transmission engineering team. You will guide project delivery, mentor engineers, and oversee staffing and workload while ensuring high-quality transmission projects for clients.

Successful candidates will have a BS in Engineering, 10+ years of transmission experience, and professional licensure. The role offers full-time, on-site work with opportunities to influence strategy and build client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of transmission line experience up to 500kV.
• Professional registration, license or certification may be required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Attitude and commitment to HDR employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Take daily operations of the Transmission section, including staff development, project profitability, team morale, and quality control.
• Serve as Project Manager for production and delivery on key transmission projects.
• Lead and coordinate technical services with other groups.
• Support local marketing efforts, including proposals and interviews.
• Select, train, develop, and manage section personnel.
• Collaborate with Area and Regional leadership on marketing and production efforts.
• Implement, monitor, and support company policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the team and clients.
