Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Section Manager to lead our transmission engineering team in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. You will manage project delivery, mentor engineers and designers, and ensure high-quality transmission line projects for clients.

You will guide staff development, oversee operations, and collaborate with marketing and leadership to grow HDR's transmission practice while upholding our employee-owned culture and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of transmission line experience
• Professional registration may be required
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Employee-owned culture involvement

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Transmission section, including staff development, project profitability, morale, and quality control.
• Act as Project Manager for transmission projects and ensure successful delivery.
• Manage staff administratively and coordinate technical services with other groups.
• Support local marketing efforts, including strategic planning and proposals.
• Recruit, train and manage technical personnel within the section.
• Collaborate with Area and Regional leadership on marketing and production efforts.
• Implement and monitor company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties to support the team and clients.
