Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in the United States is seeking a Senior Engineer to perform studies, calculations, and settings development for substation protective relays. The role focuses on applying new protective relaying for planned projects and integrating into legacy designs, with field support for implementation and commissioning.

You will work with Transmission Planning, Account Management, Tech Support, Operations, Asset Management and Compliance teams, travel 5-15%, and may receive

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of engineering experience or 5+ years with state PE registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide protective relay engineering expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
• Plan and execute work (scope, schedule, estimates) and adapt to changing priorities.
• Conduct engineering studies and create/update schematics and configuration files.
• Prepare technical documentation (reports, calculations, sketches) for analyses.
• Maintain and grow technical and professional skills; coordinate with teams.
