Job summary
Duke Energy’s Production Standards group in Charlotte, NC leads the development of relay settings standards and protection philosophy for transmission substation protection. This role provides senior technical guidance to P&C Settings and P&C Design teams, influencing drawing interfaces, terminology, and standardization across projects.
The Lead Engineer collaborates with teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery, applying industry codes and utility practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program and PE
- Eight years of related engineering work experience
- Registration as a Professional Engineer required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of production standards used by P&C Settings and P&C Design teams for transmission substation protection applications.
- Provide technical leadership for standardizing protection schemes, relay settings development practices, coordination study expectations, relay logic documentation, and settings documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Duke Energy Safety Manual and with applicable Federal, State, and local laws.
- Assist other engineering teams and Relay C&M teams as necessary.
