Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead complex transmission initiatives across multiple disciplines and operating areas. You will manage scope, schedule, and budgets, and direct project teams through business case development and capital approval.

The role requires PMP certification, strong communication with executive sponsors, and ability to secure resources and ensure safety performance. A wide range of programs and regulatory interactions are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 7–10 years PM experience, or 9–12 years without degree.
• PMP certification or plan to attain PMP within two years of entry.
• Strong knowledge of project management techniques (planning, scheduling, risk).
• Experience with business case development, cost/benefit analyses and earned value reporting.
• Proven leadership in a high-performance culture and ability to build consensus.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex transmission projects with multi-disciplinary teams and multi-area scope.
• Interface with external customers, present billable costs and negotiate schedules.
• Collaborate to optimize resource utilization across projects.
• Communicate with sponsors and stakeholders at executive level.
• Acquire/manage contract resources, approve changes, evaluate performance.
• Lead and coach team members, mentor juniors and ensure safety performance.
• Obtain zoning variations and permits by presenting to boards.
• Provide backup for Manager Project Management.
