Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Overhead Transmission to lead engineering design for Design-only and EPC projects in Kansas City. You will drive design efforts, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with clients and field teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with about 7 years of project engineering experience. PE license is preferred; expect up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 7 years of direct project engineering experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with design-only and EPC projects.
• Strong writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop and manage work plans, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall engineering design efforts for Design-only and EPC projects.
• Prepare and manage final engineering man-hour budgets.
• Manage the implementation of the Quality Program for engineering designs.
• Direct and manage field engineering services.
• Manage engineering design schedule, budget, and progress measurement with project controls teams.
• Manage, prepare, and submit client change orders.
• Lead engineering preparation of subcontract plans, bid packages and awards.
• Manage turnover and start-up plans.
• Manage and expedite vendor and fabrication shop progress.
• Prepare monthly client status reports and lead status meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
