Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a Transmission Planning Project Manager to oversee all phases of transmission planning projects, from business development to execution.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, set scope and fees, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain strong client relationships while mentoring junior staff. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related professional experience.
• Knowledge in project management, techniques, and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Experience leading technical aspects of consulting engagements in regards to power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization.
• Experience on consulting projects, client operations, or executing program management within the critical infrastructure industry.
• Understanding of general business and financial principles.
• Experience with communicating across business segments to understand project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects from business development through execution.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, develop scope and fee structures, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain client relationships.
• Mentor and grow talent within the team; serve as a go-to technical expert.
• Lead business development, identify sales opportunities, and manage proposals and contracts.
• Direct and coordinate project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communications.
• Lead risk assessment processes using industry best practices.
• Train and mentor junior staff on technical and project management aspects.
• Perform advanced transmission planning studies and apply regulatory standards.
• Use tools like PSS®E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP, and Promod for modeling.
