Job summary

E Source in the United States is seeking a Senior Transmission Planning Consultant to lead high-impact studies for electric utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and other stakeholders. You’ll shape methodologies, deliverables, and client outcomes with senior-level guidance and independent project leadership.

We value deep technical expertise in transmission planning, strong communication with clients, and mentoring of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with transmission planning processes, industry practices, and NERC/FERC/ISO requirements.
• Strong track record in stability, short-circuit, voltage, and production costing analyses.
• Proficient in PSS/E and capable of leading complex client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transmission planning studies including stability and congestion analyses.
• Serve as primary client contact, guiding scope, methodologies and deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight and QA for junior staff and consultants.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting methods and results.
• Support proposals, client meetings, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape service offerings and capabilities.
• Mentor and train less experienced staff to enable knowledge transfer.
