Job summary

Aneden Consulting Inc. is seeking a Senior Transmission Planning Consultant to lead high-impact studies for utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and cooperatives.

This senior, client-facing role combines deep technical expertise with strong project management to design methodologies and deliver actionable results. The position is 100% remote in the United States, with responsibilities spanning client liaison, study execution, reporting, and business development support.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• MS with 12+ years, PhD with 8+ years, or BS with 15+ years of relevant experience in transmission planning, operations, or consulting.
• In-depth knowledge of transmission system planning processes, methodologies, and industry practices.
• Experience with transient stability, short circuit, voltage, production costing, TPL compliance, generator interconnection, and harmonics analysis.
• Strong competency in PSS/E (required).
• Leadership and consulting skills for client-facing engagements and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transmission planning studies (stability, power flow, reliability, short-circuit, congestion management).
• Serve as client contact, defining scope, methodologies, and deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight, QA, and guidance to junior engineers and consultants.
• Prepare and present detailed technical reports documenting assumptions, methodologies, and results.
• Support business development through proposals, client meetings, and thought leadership.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape service offerings and enhance capabilities.
• Mentor and train junior staff to enable knowledge transfer.
