Job summary

Qualus, a leading power solutions firm, seeks a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer for a fully remote role in the US with a focus in transmission planning. The candidate will guide technical direction, conduct steady state studies, and utilize tools like PSSE/PSLF/PowerWorld to model and analyze power systems.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree with 4–10 years of experience, strong analytical abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 4–10 years of engineering experience.
• Experience running Steady State studies.
• Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling techniques.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recognized by clients as an Industry expert and familiar with the applicable NERC/FERC guidelines.
• Establish technical direction and philosophy for Qualus and lead peers.
• Familiar with load flow software such as TARA, PSSE or PSLF, and/or Powerworld.
• Generate System Impact Studies and Transmission Service Requests.
• Run Steady State studies and analyze transmission and generation systems under normal and emergency operations.
• Provide leadership by mentoring less-experienced consultants and reviewing projects.
• Delegate, plan, prioritize, and review the work of other consultants.
• Justify strategy and analytic recommendations with documentation and data.
