Job summary

ICF Power Delivery Services is seeking a senior transmission planning engineer to own complex engagements, lead a team, and shape the practice. You will guide steady‑state and transient analyses, interconnection studies, and long‑range planning across multiple regional footprints, while mentoring peers and contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited) required.
• 2+ years in transmission planning or related power engineering field.
• Experience leading technical studies as primary contact is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead or study manager on transmission planning engagements.
• Perform steady‑state load flow and contingency analyses for planning studies.
• Conduct transient stability and dynamic simulations for generation/interconnection studies.
• Lead large‑scale interconnection and long‑range expansion studies across multiple ISOs/RTOs.
• Develop and assess transmission expansion plans under load growth and retirement scenarios.
• Support regulatory and interconnection reform compliance work.
• Author and QA study reports for filings and client deliverables.
• Develop Python‑based automation to improve study workflows and data management.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in business development activities.
