Job summary

ICF's Power Delivery Services seeks a senior transmission planning engineer to own complex engagements and lead a project team, shaping the direction of the practice. You will guide studies from kickoff to deliverable, interfacing with utilities, developers, and grid operators.

The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge across steady-state and dynamic analyses, ISOs/RTOs familiarity, and hands-on scripting in Python for automation.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
2+ years of experience in transmission planning, power system studies, or related electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead on transmission planning engagements.
Perform steady-state load flow and contingency analysis.
Conduct transient stability and dynamic simulations.
Lead large load interconnection studies across ISO footprints.
Develop long-range transmission expansion plans.
Mentor junior engineers and support business development.
Prepare reports for regulatory filings.
