Job summary

Excel Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced project leader for transmission line design and full-cycle project management.

You will oversee scope, schedules, budgets, and teams across civil, electrical, geotechnical, environmental, and ROW disciplines, ensuring safety and quality standards. You will coordinate field activities, manage vendor relations, and engage clients and regulators while driving proposals and contracts.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of transmission line engineering, construction practices, and project delivery methods.
• Experience leading transmission projects in engineering, construction, EPC, utility, or consulting environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing external contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Journeyman/PE credentials or pursuit of licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leading full cycle project management and project closeout activities.
• Developing and managing scope, WBS, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Monitoring project performance and coordinating design activities for transmission lines.
• Providing technical oversight and resolving field issues to align with design intent.
• Serving as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Leading communications, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
• Supporting business development, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Approximately 80% office / 20% field work.
