Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a collaborative team designing overhead electric transmission systems from 34.5 kV to 500 kV. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC and other standards in engineering and design across capital and maintenance projects, and direct modeling, drafting plans, and bill of materials.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
8+ years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission design.
Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Strong teamwork and client communication.
Willingness to travel onsite and to client offices.

Responsibilities

Direct multiple design teams across projects for clients.
Develop and mentor Leidos’ engineering talent.
Oversee timesheets and annual performance reviews.
Lead RFP/RFI/RFQ responses and define scopes.
Drive quality control and project portfolio health.
Foster long-term client relationships and growth.
