Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a team delivering overhead transmission designs from 34.5 kV to 500 kV, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC and other standards. You will guide analyses, modeling, and procurement documentation across planning, environmental, permitting, and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Civil preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Strong communication to serve as primary client contact.
• Business acumen with track record meeting project metrics.
• Onsite work possibility and travel as required.
• Ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on projects for clients.
• Develop and mentor Leidos’ engineering talent.
• Supervise staff, approve timesheets, conduct performance reviews.
• Participate in leadership of the Transmission Line Section.
• Prepare proposals, define scope, and respond to RFIs/RFPs.
• Foster creative problem solving for complex issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and tools via automation.
• Forecast workload and support recruiting to meet growth.
• Oversee quality control of deliverables.
• Manage client relationships to grow business and portfolio health.
• Coordinate project scope, schedules, budgets with PMO support.
