Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead transmission line designs and guide project discussions with clients. The role focuses on designing lines, developing specs, and managing costs while ensuring compliance with NESC and IEEE standards.

Hybrid work is possible in several locations; remote arrangement may be offered for the right candidate. You will mentor engineers, support proposals, and travel to client sites as needed, leveraging PLS-CADD proficiency and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
• 3+ years of transmission line design experience.
• In-depth knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC requirements.
• High proficiency in PLS-CADD.
• Experience in electrical utility or utility consulting preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission line segments using PLS-CADD or similar software.
• Develop design criteria documents and construction specifications.
• Prepare construction packages including structure details and staking tables.
• Estimate project costs, resources, and deadlines.
• Write and review specifications per NESC/IEEE/NEC.
• Conduct feasibility and routing studies and EMF calculations.
• Oversee project implementation and verification of foundations, structures, and equipment.
• Contribute to proposals and business development.
