Job summary

HDR in Portland, OR seeks a Transmission Line Engineer to design high‑voltage transmission lines, perform analyses, and coordinate with stakeholders. You will apply PLS-CADD and foundation tools (L-Pile, Caisson, MFAD) and guide junior team members through design reviews.

Responsibilities include preparing construction release packages, leading client meetings, and assisting with cost estimates and project scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Professional engineer license (PE/P.Eng) required.
• 4+ years of transmission line engineering experience in Power/renewables.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and analysis of transmission structures.
• Stakeholder liaison with internal/external teams, including environmental, real estate, construction, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare transmission line design deliverables using PLS-CADD and foundation design software.
• Coordinate construction release packages (plans, profiles, bills of material).
• Mentor EITs and Designers; perform QC reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to project manhour estimates and schedules; participate in client design reviews.
