Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission design engineer in the United States with 12+ years of experience and a BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. The role involves designing lines from 69kV through 500kV, mentoring teammates, and coordinating with clients to meet standards and project requirements.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and relocation support where applicable, plus robust benefits.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12+ years of transmission design experience.
• Experience with PLS-CADD software.
• Ability to develop scopes of work and conceptual designs, and assemble calculations/specifications.
• Experience on transmission lines 69kV–500kV and with client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range (often up to 765kV).
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
• Perform independent reviews of work, including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy’s System of Processes.
