Job summary

RRC Power and Energy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer IV in Round Rock, TX. The role leads senior engineering tasks and project management within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on 69kV–500kV transmission line designs and quality assurance.

You will mentor engineers, review models, and ensure designs meet client specifications while staying aligned with industry standards. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the US.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD for transmission line design.
• Knowledge of NESC, RUS, IEEE, ASCE7, ASCE48, ASCE74, AISC, ACI318.
• Experience with FAD Tools and LPile.
• Willing to travel to project locations in Canada or the US.
• Authorized for full-time work in Canada or the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level guidance of transmission line engineering and project management.
• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range and review peer designs.
• Ensure designs meet project specs and quality standards.
• Champion industry standards compliance throughout projects.
• Contribute to internal design procedures and standards.
• Mentor and train engineering team members.
• Review and approve project models and documentation; serve as Responsible in Charge.
• Perform value engineering to optimize designs.
• Participate in project site visits as needed.
