Job summary

RRC Power and Energy seeks a Transmission Line Designer IV to join our Round Rock, TX team. You will perform transmission line designs using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE for wood, steel, and concrete structures, and develop technical drawings and BOMs for varied projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in transmission line design, strong communication, and proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation, with a degree or equivalent experience. The role offers full-time employment in the Round Rock/Austin area.

Qualifications

Associates or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
5+ years of experience in transmission line engineering design; strong interpersonal strengths align with the role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of design codes, standards such as NESC, RUS, and ASCE 7; material procurement and construction work packages.

Responsibilities

Perform transmission line design in PL S-CADD, PLS-POLE (wood, steel, and concrete).
Develop project drawings and documents: plan/profile, BOM, assembly details, foundations.
Ensure designs meet project specs and company quality standards.
Mentor and train designers/technicians; share technical expertise.
Project site visits may be required.
