Job summary

Qualus seeks a Lead Overhead Transmission Line Engineer in Salt Lake City to design transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications. You will mentor junior engineers, perform analyses, and review drawings to meet project goals.

Requires 5+ years in transmission line design, PE license, and proficiency with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and related tools. Collaborate with clients and project teams while ensuring standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
• PE License required.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission line design for high voltage applications.
• Strong knowledge of structural design and analysis principles.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD Tools, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, ACI, RUS, IEC, IEEE.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission structures and power lines for high voltage applications.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and drawings.
• Conduct engineering analysis and simulations for transmission line design.
• Mentor and train lower-level engineers and team members.
• Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations, drawings, specification, and transmission line PLS-CADD models.
• Provide support to the project team during construction and installation.
• Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Perform field work as required to support design, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as required.
