Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a transmission line engineer in Florida to lead design and engineering for utility-scale projects, renewables interconnections, and grid modernization initiatives. You will drive technical excellence and provide direction to a design team.

The role involves managing scopes, schedules, budgets, mentoring staff, and collaborating with clients while contributing to proposals and cost estimates. On-site work at project locations is anticipated.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or Electrical).
• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 5+ years transmission line design experience at 69kV+.
• PE license preferred; NCEES record.
• Knowledge of NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules.
• Experience mentoring designers/drafters.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise in transmission line design and problem resolution.
• Plan, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Produce detailed technical reports, calculations, and drawings.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with clients and internal engineers.
• Ensure deliverables meet budget and schedule.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and project management.
• Visit sites and advise on design during construction.
