Ameren Transmission is seeking an Engineering & Construction Supervisor to oversee contractor-based construction of electric transmission lines and substations. The role focuses on onsite leadership, safety, scheduling and quality control across projects, with travel as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering, professional licensure (PE), and 5+ years of related experience, including supervisory or contractor leadership. Strong communication and risk management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools in construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution facilities.
• Knowledge of general construction processes, principles and activities.
• Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills.
• Autonomy and adaptability with flexible work approach.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and influence on contractor safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite field management and coordination for electric transmission projects.
• Work independently in performing all aspects of construction management.
• Initiate and evaluate jobsite safety and quality control procedures; document observations.
• Maintain daily surveillance of construction activities; interpret specs and ensure contractor compliance.
• Facilitate progress meetings; track safety, quality, schedule and budget; resolve issues and change requests.
• Assist with planning and review of specifications, schedule, outages and resource utilization.
• Support project manager with development of critical path schedules and realistic activity durations.
• Complete assessments of project requirements including material, access, restoration and security.
