Job summary

Department of Juvenile Justice in Virginia seeks a Training and Development Coordinator, Sr. to design, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve supervisory training initiatives.

The role partners with HR and Training Unit staff to ensure curricula reflect current laws, policies, and agency priorities for a workforce that leads with excellence. This position does not have direct reports and requires strong facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills to support supervisors

Qualifications

• Considerable experience supervising employees with performance management and employee relations responsibilities.
• Experience in Human Resources, organizational development, leadership development, workforce development, training, or related field.
• Knowledge of employee relations, performance management, corrective action, workforce engagement, and supervisory best practices.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methods, training delivery techniques, and program evaluation methodologies.
• Experience developing curriculum, presentations, participant materials, and learning resources.
• Ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, regulations, and HR guidance to diverse audiences.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with leaders, HR professionals, and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, evaluate, and improve training programs for supervisors and managers.
• Serve as SME for supervisory development and align curricula with laws, policies and priorities.
• Collaborate with HR, Training Unit staff, and operational stakeholders to ensure relevant content.
