Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Traffic Engineering – Senior Project Manager to join our New England traffic team, with responsibilities spanning Boston, Glastonbury, and Providence. The role leads project delivery, client relations, and staff development for local, state, and regional clients.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, budget, and schedules, and mentor staff while pursuing technical excellence and safe mobility solutions across Southern New England projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Transportation/Traffic Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of post-education, progressive experience in traffic signal design, ITS, Safety, Active Transportation and Complete Streets.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in CT or RI or able to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire; PTOE certification highly preferred.
• Proven experience managing projects with budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Proven experience with CTDOT, RIDOT, and other regional agencies.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
• Exceptional communication abilities including written, verbal, and public speaking.
• Demonstrated success in proposal writing, client presentations, and strategic project delivery.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Passion for innovation, quality, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery and execution of project scope, objectives, and requirements with close client collaboration.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; ensure high-quality deliverables and documentation.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering trust, transparency, and accountability.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, including government agencies and sub-consultants.
• Present complex technical information to executives, client teams, and public forums.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
• Mentor staff and support technical development within the team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
