Job summary

McClure is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer (Senior PE) to lead a growing Transportation team. You will mentor junior engineers, oversee technical/design deliverables, and drive project success through QA/QC and effective client communication.

The role emphasizes leadership, industry standards adherence, and strategic project delivery. The position requires a PE license, 5+ years of civil engineering experience, and a willingness to mentor others, with PTOE as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification is a plus.
• General computer knowledge (Excel, Word, PDF).
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery teams by delegating technical/design tasks and coaching team members.
• Perform QA/QC on reports, plans and specifications to ensure industry standards compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers to grow technical capabilities.
• Manage project milestones, schedules, budgets, and staffing in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and progress reviews to communicate complex issues clearly.
• Contribute to industry innovation and thought leadership within the team and externally.
