Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Traffic Engineer in New York, NY to contribute to multi-modal transportation planning and design. The role blends data analysis, macro- and microsimulation modeling, and collaborative teamwork to deliver high-quality results.

The candidate will lead analyses, manage a team of engineers, and communicate findings to clients, agencies, and the public. This hybrid role requires in-office presence three days weekly with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in civil/transportation engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years in traffic engineering.
• PE license or exam completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering tasks including data collection, operations, safety and planning analyses.
• Plan and perform fieldwork and data collection for project analyses.
• Mentor junior staff and review work for quality.
• Identify constraints and develop practical approaches for agencies and communities.
• Prepare and present technical memoranda, reports and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
