Job summary

Stantec seeks a Traffic Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team in the New York City office. You will contribute to creating vital connections for people and goods through various modes of transportation, including autos, transit, rail, aviation, bicycle facilities, and pedestrians.

Our transportation planning and engineering services tailor to clients' needs while improving mobility and connectivity. This is a hybrid role with mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TPTE principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with TPTE standards, codes, and requirements.
• Understanding of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) studies and guidelines.
• Experience with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM.
• Experience with ArcGIS, programming languages, SQL, or Adobe Illustrator is considered an asset.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with standard business software applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical findings to general audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation planning studies, including traffic impact studies, traffic operations analyses, crash analyses, and speed studies.
• Develop TPTE components of Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning and Environmental Linkages studies with multidisciplinary teams.
• Plan and execute traffic data collection programs, validate datasets, and analyze results to support project decisions.
• Collaborate with roadway and structural engineers to evaluate and refine roadway designs through iterative design processes.
• Build and apply microsimulation and mesoscopic models, interpret results, and incorporate findings into project recommendations.
• Prepare technical memoranda and comprehensive reports documenting methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
• Develop materials for public outreach meetings and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible visuals for public audiences.
