Job summary

Island Finance, the largest financial institution in Puerto Rico, seeks a senior Managerial HR professional specializing in compensation, benefits, and payroll to partner with the HR Director and senior leadership. You will design competitive salary structures and internal equity plans while ensuring regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees preferred (MBA, Master's in Human Resources, or related disciplines).
• Professional certifications preferred, including SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) and/or Certified Compensation and Benefits Professional (CCBP).
• 5 to 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, payroll administration, and regulatory compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable local and federal employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage compensation strategies through salary structures and equity plans.
• Serve as payroll subject matter expert ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency (Workday, ADP SmartCompliance).
• Audit and manage payroll processes in line with company policies and federal/state regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal regulatory reporting, including W-2s and related filings.
• Manage the employee leave administration program in compliance with laws.
• Oversee HR budget, accruals, and attendance trends for leadership review.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including 401(k) and ERISA compliance, audits, and SAR/Form 5500.
• Participate in quarterly medical plan reviews and annual enrollment; drive Wellness Program initiatives.
• Lead community engagement programs (Back-to-School, Health Awareness) and coordinate vendor relationships.
