Job summary

Archipelago Companies is seeking a Senior Manager to oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance. This in-office hybrid role requires coordination with HR, Payroll, Finance and external vendors to optimize payroll operations and benefits programs.

You will manage 401K audits, ACA/COBRA/ERISA compliance, and reporting. Minimum 8 years in payroll/benefits with multi-state knowledge is required, plus CPP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, HR or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, ACA, COBRA, ERISA and IRS rules.
• Experience with payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, Paychex, BambooHR, Full Circle).
• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• CPP or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage benefits programs including health, retirement, FSA, life and disability policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws and tax reporting.
• Audit 401K and workers compensation; assist with audits and vendor coordination.
• Support acquisitions with payroll process integration and open enrollment campaigns.
• Provide employee payroll and benefits support and training.
