Job summary

The Pivot Group Network partners with Allegan manufacturers to connect skilled Tool and Die Makers with rewarding opportunities. This role focuses on precision tooling and die development for diverse production environments.

You will design and build dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges; operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and EDM equipment; read blueprints and 3D models to meet exact tolerances; and conduct precise measurements with calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of tool and die making processes, machinery, and materials.
• Ability to operate manual and CNC machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and build dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing dies and tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
