Job summary

System One is seeking a Tier III NOC Technician in Washington, DC, with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. The role is a perm position with full benefits and a compensation around $120K, depending on experience and certs.

The candidate must hold one or more high-level certifications (CCNP, CCNP Security, JNCIP or equivalent) and bring extensive enterprise networking experience across routing, switching, security, and incident management. You'll mentor junior staff and lead major incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in network ops/engineering/sys admin.
• 5+ years in 7x24x365 NOC or mission-critical environment.
• Senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise networks.
• Expert-level routing/switching (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP/MPLS).
• Packet analysis with Wireshark/tcpdump.
• Security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAT.
• Multi-vendor equipment: Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto/Arista/F5.
• Monitoring: SolarWinds/Nagios/Splunk/NetFlow.
• DNS/DHCP/NTP and protocols knowledge.
• Load balancing and HA architectures.
• Data center networking and virtualization.
• Scripting: Python/Ansible/PowerShell/Bash.
• ITIL knowledge.
• Cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP) & DevOps.
• Work under pressure; on-call.
• Shift flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final escalation point for Tier 1/2 incidents.
• Lead troubleshooting of critical network outages.
• Root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Provide technical leadership to junior NOC technicians.
• Design and implement network optimization and automation.
• Packet/protocol troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with vendors/service providers.
• Develop and maintain NOC procedures and runbooks.
• Lead Major Incident Management calls.
• Monitor network capacity and traffic patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering/security/systems teams.
