Job summary

Peraton seeks a self-driven Senior Network Engineer to join the Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on Tier III support, root-cause analysis, and permanent solutions for complex network issues, contributing to secure, high-performance communications across government operations.

Qualifications

  • . Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • 2. Ability to work shift schedule (Panama) supporting 24/7 operations.
  • 3. DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • 4. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure for routing and switching of complex networks.
  • 5. Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
  • 6. Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and SDN concepts.
  • 7. Prior Government/DoD customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create/modify network drawings and author system engineering documents.
  • Support design, testing, and pre-deployment readiness reviews.
  • Support production network operations.
  • Recommend modern engineering approaches to deployments.
  • Develop and manage network engineering processes and standards.
  • Perform capacity planning by monitoring network performance.
  • Research tools and technologies to improve performance and lower TCO.
