Job summary

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Tier III operations and maintenance (O&M) network engineer to support WAN and LAN networks. You will provide incident resolution, routing and firewall changes, and serve as a SME in WAN/LAN technologies.

Responsibilities include configuring and testing devices, monitoring network performance, evaluating upgrade requests, and performing tier 3 troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• TS SCI CI Poly
• 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education (Doctorate +8, Masters +10, Bachelors +12, Associates +14, HS +16)
• DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting boundary protection technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Forcepoint)
• Experience with Juniper and Cisco routers and switches
• Protocols: OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRF, MPLS
• Knowledge of NAT, IP subnetting, routing and switching
• Service Now or similar ITSM experience
• Strong verbal and written communication
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Responsibilities

• Support operations and maintenance activities for LAN/WAN including OSPF, BGP, VRFs, VLANs, VRRP, MPLS
• Monitor network performance
• Configure and test hardware, networking software, and OS
• Assess user upgrade requests and advise on technical approaches
• Perform tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Prepare troubleshooting procedures for network restoration
• Provide fault and performance management
• Respond to and resolve network troubles
• Execute reporting and data input for network management
• Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams
• Analyze network characteristics and recommend changes to components
• Optimize network topologies and site configurations
• Document current site configurations and user requirements
• Maintain systems, software, SP, and tools
• Ensure compliance with open systems standards and architectures
• Note: may have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities
• On-call afterhours for incident resolution
