Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced Senior Practice Assistant to support a busy Thoracic Surgery practice in a hybrid role at 273 Charles Street, Boston. You will coordinate surgical scheduling, pre- and post-operative activities, and insurance authorizations while delivering exceptional patient experiences.

The ideal candidate has strong administrative healthcare experience, proficiency with Epic EMR systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of administrative/medical office or healthcare support experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule thoracic surgical procedures, pre-operative testing, and post-operative appointments.
• Obtain insurance authorizations, referrals, and required documentation for surgical care.
• Serve as a key point of contact for patients and families, providing guidance and support throughout the surgical journey.
• Manage physician schedules, maintain patient records, and support day-to-day practice operations.
• Utilize Epic, Patient Gateway, and other electronic systems to coordinate care and maintain accurate information.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and external providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
• Support billing, financial, and insurance-related processes associated with surgical services.
