Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Thermal Systems Lead Engineer to own the mechanical loop for data center cooling in a virtual/remote setting. You will design and optimize chillers, pumps, and heat rejection equipment to deliver efficient, scalable thermal management that integrates with the broader system architecture.

You will lead roadmaps, collaborate with partners including NVIDIA, translate customer requirements into detailed specs, and drive sustainability goals while mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7–10 years in engineering with focus on thermal systems for data centers.
• Proven experience designing mechanical cooling systems for mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-generational roadmaps for the mechanical loop of AI data centers.
• Collaborate with partners like NVIDIA to meet future chip architecture requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed technical specs for equipment and controls teams.
• Own the mechanical loop thermal management system design within reference architectures.
• Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating new cooling technologies and components.
• Support sustainability targets (PUE, WUE) and mentor junior engineers.
