Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Thermal Systems Lead Engineer for the Technical Loop (Remote) to drive multi-generational cooling roadmaps for AI data centers. You will be the internal expert on advanced cooling (direct-to-chip, immersion, 2-phase) and collaborate with NVIDIA to align with future chip architectures.

You will translate customer needs into precise specifications for equipment and controls teams, owning the thermal loop design within current and future reference designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of engineering experience in thermal system management.
• Experience with IT hardware cooling in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-generational roadmaps for the technical cooling loop in AI data centers.
• Serve as an internal expert on direct-to-chip, immersion, and 2-phase cooling.
• Collaborate with partners like NVIDIA to meet chip-architecture requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed technical specs for equipment and controls.
• Own the thermal management system design within reference architectures.
• Evaluate and implement new cooling technologies and components.
• Select key components: pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping for reliability and efficiency.
• Provide coaching to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
