Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer to join the MA&T Department. You will perform detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles and lead evaluation efforts with peer reviews.

The role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, plus ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Onsite work at the Tucson facility with opportunities to travel for program needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis using ANSYS, PATRAN, or Thermal Desktop/SINDA.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong independent work and multitasking abilities.
• Experience in planning, data reduction, and correlation of thermal testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses for program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Lead or collaborate with analysts under cost and schedule constraints.
• Review work with peers for technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• Travel to government or other facilities as needed.
• Document work in detail and archive for reference.
• Act as technical leader within MA&T and mentor teams.
