Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join the Lunar Core Components Heat Transfer team. You will apply your thermal expertise to lunar lander architectures and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive hardware from concept through build and test.

The role emphasizes leadership, rigorous experimentation, and quality to advance safe human spaceflight while supporting the Lunar Permanence program and Blue Moon lander developments.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant thermal engineering experience.
• Strong grasp of heat transfer and fluid system fundamentals.
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, cold plates and radiators.
• Experience with CAD software, preferably Creo.
• Experience with CFD methods for component-level analysis.
• Experience with thermal analysis software such as Thermal Desktop, FloCAD, MATLAB, Python, CFD++, Ansys Fluent.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide thermal analysis expertise to Lunar vehicle architectures and related hardware.
• Contribute to a team of Thermal Engineers developing thermal hardware and driving designs through build, test, and verification.
• Apply technical leadership and commitment to quality to support safe human spaceflight.
