Enphase Energy in Austin, TX is hiring a senior thermal engineer to join the SST Product Innovation Team within the Office of the CTO. You will lead end-to-end thermal design for medium‑voltage power conversion systems and energy storage enclosures, ensuring reliability across operating environments.

Responsibilities include first‑principles thermal analysis, designing and using thermal test vehicles, CFD, and validating models with hardware measurements; collaboration with EEs, ME, and

• Strong theoretical thermal analysis across conduction, convection and radiation.
• Experience designing and validating thermal test vehicles (TTVs).
• Ability to decompose complex problems into incremental sub‑problems with hypotheses and tests.
• Expertise in air‑cooled cooling for power electronics and energy storage enclosures.
• Proficient with thermal simulation tools and correlation to hardware data.
• Proven CAD skills with collaborative design for reliability and manufacturability.
• Excellent communication for multidisciplinary teams and leadership.
• Result‑driven, solution‑oriented approach to rapid thermal problem solving.

Responsabilidades

• Apply first‑principles thermal analysis to complex problems and bound solutions.
• Decompose system thermal challenges into discrete, testable steps and document learnings.
• Design and harvest data from thermal test vehicles to validate models.
• Own end‑to‑end thermal solution for high‑power density systems and enclosures.
• Design and optimize air‑cooled systems, including heat sink and ducting choices.
• Build and validate CFD and thermal resistance networks against measurements.
• Lead thermal testing and analysis plans with instrumentation (TCs, RTDs, IR).
• Define margins and design rules for reliability and safety.
