Job summary

Amperesand seeks a Senior Staff Thermo-Mechanical Design Engineer to own the complete thermal system for its solid-state power conversion platform. You will lead architecture, sizing, modeling, CAD design, CFD, and validation, partnering across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to push a high-performance, manufacturable solution.

You will mentor 1-3 junior engineers, drive design-for-manufacturing, and troubleshoot challenging thermo problems, with opportunities to influence

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in thermo-mechanical design
• Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering, or BS with exceptional accomplishment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver a thermal system and solve novel engineering problems
• Hands-on testing and validation experience
• Ability to lead 1-3 junior engineers on the thermal system

Responsibilities

• Own the complete thermal system for the platform from architecture into mass-production.
• Model thermal performance across operating conditions and mission profiles.
• Detail design of thermal system components including CAD and CFD.
• DFM/DFA collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams.
• Prototype, validate, and troubleshoot the thermal system.
