Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
• Strong theoretical thermal analysis including conduction, convection, radiation and transient analysis.
• Thermal test vehicle design and execution experience.
• Structured problem decomposition for complex thermal problems.
• Deep expertise in air-cooled thermal design for power electronics and energy storage enclosures.
• Proficiency with thermal simulation tools (CFD and thermal networks).
• Thermal testing and instrumentation experience (thermocouples, RTDs, IR cameras).
• Product design for reliability under varied environments.
• Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks).
• Excellent communication and solution-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Apply rigorous first-principles thermal analysis to all problems.
• Decompose complex thermal challenges into testable sub-problems.
• Design and harvest data from thermal test vehicles (TTVs).
• Own end-to-end thermal solution from concept to validation.
• Design and optimize air-cooled systems, including heat sinks and fans, with CFD.
• Build and correlate thermal models with hardware measurements.
• Lead thermal testing and validation plans and experiments.
• Define thermal budgets, margins, and design guidelines.
