Job summary

Enphase Energy, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical integration of high-power electrical equipment, including busbars, wire harnesses, and board packaging, for the Solid State Transformer product.

You will own designs from concept to production, perform thermal and structural analyses, produce 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, and collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in high-power electrical products.
• Strong proficiency in busbar design and wiring harness systems.
• Experience with electronic board packaging and EMI/thermal considerations.
• Proven ability to design for manufacturing with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design high-current busbar assemblies with thermal management and mounting.
• Own wire harness design, routing, and connector selection.
• Create electronic board packaging with enclosures and EMI shielding.
• Specify connectors and interconnect systems for reliability.
• Perform insulation coordination and high-voltage considerations.
• Ensure boards are field-replaceable and serviceable.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for production.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
