Job summary

Anduril Industries in Lexington, MA is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead thermal analysis across hardware programs from concept to production. You will build analytical models, develop CFD tools, and drive validated predictions for rapid prototyping of cutting-edge systems.

The role requires 7+ years in thermal analysis, strong FEA in STAR-CCM+/ANSYS, and MATLAB/Python modeling. Eligibility for a U.S. Secret clearance is required; on-site work in Lexington.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• 7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
• Thermal FEA experience – STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
• Familiarity with Matlab or Python for analytical models and data processing.
• Experience with test-model correlation and test-based characterization.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute hand calculations, spreadsheet, and MATLAB/Python first-order models.
• Develop CFD models to predict temperatures and heat transfer; correlate FEMs.
• Perform test-model correlation testing to validate predictions.
• Collaborate with environmental test engineers to support tests and data processing.
• Prepare technical reports for internal teams, management, and customers.
• Stay current with advancements in thermal analysis techniques and standards.
