Job summary

Anduril Industries in Lexington, MA is seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst to lead thermal design across hardware programs, building detailed analytical models and mature prototypes for rapid development of advanced systems.

You will perform first order assessments, develop CFD/FEA models, conduct test-model correlations, and present results to internal teams and customers while keeping up with industry standards and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• MS or higher in engineering or applied physics with focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• 7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
• Thermal FEA experience – STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
• Familiarity with Matlab or Python for developing analytical models and data post-processing.
• Experience with performing test-model correlation and test-based characterization of inputs.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams; highly motivated and results oriented.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute hand calculations, spreadsheets, and MATLAB/Python models to inform design decisions.
• Develop CFD models and simulations to predict temperatures and heat transfer; maintain integrated FEMs.
• Perform test-model correlation testing to validate predictions.
• Collaborate with environmental test engineers for instrumentation selection and data processing.
• Prepare technical reports presenting findings to internal teams and customers.
• Stay current with advancements in thermal analysis techniques and industry standards.
